Two Cultures One Marriage - Italian and Hindu

Jenn and Ashu brought two strong wonderful cultures together, with an outstanding wedding at the Belvedere Mansion. Starting with a traditional white gown the ceremony first was to be a Catholic ceremony, where the Italian American and Indian American parents would participate in the union of the this lovely couple. The brides Maids and Grooms Men wore traditional Indian garb, While Jen and Ashu donned western wear.

Following this joyous ceremony, Both Jenn and Ashu had a wardrobe change. Jen was adorned with gold Indian jewelry, a gorgeous beaded Sari, brought all the way back from Bombay. Ashu wore a silk turban and classic silk Indian formal attire. Stunning.

The second ceremony began with Ashu dancing in under a small silk canopy (scarf) led by his friends and Uncles, while Jenn processed in along side the brides maids and her sister, the Maid Of Honor.

Flower garlands were shared by parents with one another, a very moving and inclusive part of the ceremony...a moment when all was right with the world, two worlds collided and acceptance was great. The Grandfather on Jen's side embraced the  brother in law on Ashu's side. It was such a lovely, sweet and optimistic time for everyone.

The ceremony continued on the beautiful Man dap, created with lots of embroidered silk and flowers. I felt as though I was in a jewel box, and it was such a joy to have an opportunity to photograph the beauty all around me.

The reception took place in the tent...gift boxes containing chocolates were made of paper and silk. The tables never looked more beautiful then on this evening, as  a late afternoon sparkle of sun finally made it's debut.I will never forget this Maharani  meets  Italian wedding
