The Foundry- The Wedding of Madeline and Steve

I fell hard for the Foundry. From the rooftop view of the 59th street Bridge, to the ivy covered brick walls and the balcony view of the dance floor.

Madeline and Steve were incredibly kind and thoughtful- and completely easy. They were there to have a blast and that they did. The Bridesmaids and Groomsmen were a terrific, fun group…and I had a fantastic time with all of them.

A Tribeca Affair

Katie wanted a Non wedding wedding. A party without too many bells and whistles, but a party shared with dearest friends and family. She and Alan picked mark Forgione Restaurant in Tribeca, for both its warm ambiance, dark brick and woods, as well as its amazing food.

Family stayed nearby at the Hotel Conrad, a huge new building that was able to accommodate everyone in one place.

The couple looked completely stunning, Katie in a silk satin retro styled gown. Being a fashion stylist in NYC, she has the best esthetic, unmatched fashion flair. Alan had a custom made dinner jacket in silver blue. He was one handsome dude, dressed in tuxedo pants with that stunning coat.

The restaurant was adorned simply, candles, lovely flowers, family photos. It needed so very little.

The only time of the day where I was noticeable was actually as we did the portraits on the streets of Tribeca. Family joined us in front of what was once a warehouse building and now High end lofts. It still had that urban feel that Katie and Alan were looking for.

The DJ for the reception was much more of a club DJ and really had the party rocking. I was so impressed with the flow of the music.He had the best timing.

Tribeca will never be the same after this crowd descended upon the street and made their way across the street to the local bar for a wild funny after party.

Swathi and Grant are married { The Harold Pratt House }

Fusion weddings combining two cultures are always full of great contrasts and comparisons. This Hindu and Christian wedding was no exception, bringing a joyous, love to a day of ceremony and festivities.

The morning held the Hindu ceremony. Swathi was bedecked in the family heirlooms, strands of gold necklaces, arm ornaments, decorative jewels to be worn in the hair and on the forehead.and lots and lots of bracelets. The Mendi happened a few days earlier and the henna was bright and clear, decorating Swathi beautifully.

Grant wore a traditional Indian outfit and looked dapper and handsome. The Mandap was decorated with fresh blooms.

As the morning progressed there was a lot of rice being poured over each other's heads, thrown by guests and later thrown up to the sky towards a star to bring the couple much love and happiness.The ring was first placed on the toe and then the wedding band on the fingers

The afternoon held the Christian ceremony and both Swathi and Grant changed into stunning western wear. Swathi looked luminous in her white gown. Her mother walked her in behind the adorable flower girl and ring bearer.

Dancing and dinner were held in the Harold Pratt House, a stunning Park Avenue mansion. Before dinner we dashed outside for a few fun and beautiful street portraits. I was smiling ear to ear as these two kissed.I was standing in the middle of busy Park Ave and traffic just stopped. NY sure is magical.

Thanks to Keith Ferris for second shooting and Rebecca Seritella for shooting along side me for the Indian ceremony
