Melissa and Ryan are married at Red Maple Vineyard

It was so so hot and then the storm rolled in…the sign of a great love affair, a couple meant to be together, is how they handle a disappointment together. Well, both Melissa and Ryan just rolled with it all. They completely were thinking of the friends and family, not themselves, when they called the ceremony to be held indoors. No drama, just lots of joy and love. What a honor to be with them documenting this fabulous day.

During the vowels, the thunder and pelting rain added drama and the room was so quiet save for the two beautiful people expressing their love for each other. It was really magic.

Later the party was raucous and so so fun.

PJ and Theresa are married at the Red Maple Vineyard

Red Maple Vineyard is a perfect venue for any size affair. The Vineyard offers a great view for the ceremony, gorgeous gardens, a young vineyard, and food grown there that is prepared deliciously.

Theresa and PJ came to my studio where we first met. I immediately knew I wanted an opportunity to work with and for them. They allowed me great creative freedom and the love they share is remarkable. When Theresa read in her vowels " The minute I met you my life was never the same" I could see what she meant. These two are an inspiration to be with.

On top of all of this the date was October 29th and it was 79 degrees a with the softest and prettiest light ever.

The party was outstanding from beginning to end. PJ's dad is a florist. The tent was unreal.I have been to Red Maple many times and never have I seen  the space look better. From the entryway , to the amazing arch of flowers for the ceremony-gorgeous.

We ended the evening,  just before the bonfire, going up to the hill where Theresa and Pj said their vows. Standing still in complete black, except for a small glow from a cloud surrounded moon, I created a heirloom image for the two of them to cherish.

The Barns at Liberty Farm Ghent NY ( Alex and Victoria)

Alex and Victoria came to me by route of Alex's sister's wedding, 7 years ago. This wedding was to be very different then that Brooklyn Botanical Garden winter affair.

This wedding took place on a farm, Liberty Farm, with horses and a glorious barn, with decorated horse paddocks, filled with antique furniture. This wedding had a sunset to die for, a sweet view and farm fences.

Victoria wore a lovely easy to be in, lace gown and adorned her hair with a delicate flower wreath. Alex, hipster from Brooklyn, wore a elegant slim fitting blue suit, white and blue patterned shirt, blue tie and fabulous brown leather shoes.

CHeck out the sunset-amazing only begins to describe it. I shot this with a movie light to keep the warmth of the setting sun and not introduce the blue light of a flash. I also went for the very blue light of dusk, immediately following the colorful sunsetting sky.

the barn was trickey, honey warm in color and we did create quite a few black and white images, lit carefully with movie lighting to create a 50's look, akin to the furnishings and design of the evening
