With both aCommercial and fine art background, I create images that are at once artful, contemporary, classic and clean. With clients such as Revlon, Bloomingdales, David Monn, Tiffany's, Lipton's, New York Magazine, my experience serves to make me the calm in the excitement of a wedding day. I always bring my humor with me! No detail is forgotten.
I shared a studio that specialized in advertising and dance photography with my husband before moving to the country. A few of our clients included Bloomingdales, Revlon, Lipton, Avon,Madison Ave magazine, as well as many more.
I am able to cover a wide range of areas, from beaches in Mexico, mountains in Pennsylvania, Vineyards in the Hamptons, lofts in New York City.
I adore NYC streets and country fields. I always try to work with the environment in a dynamic and beautiful way. When I first started shooting weddings around 10 years ago, the industry was stagnant and contrived. I would take my couples into the middle of a busy street or under an umbrella on a rainy day. I have subsequently seen many other photographers that I believe were motivated by some of my images to break out of the old boring ways.
Being a master of black and white photography, I still shoot with b/w film on occasion. The timeless quality that I can achieve with black and white is something that I love and will continue to explore. I also have hand painted many images over the course of my career, and I became known for the subtle qualities of my archival hand painted black and white photographs. They adorn the walls of many homes and families continue to come back as they grow.
I taught photography at both Rutger's University, Dutchessl Community College as well as with a grant from the NY Historical Society, where I brought photography to kids in the South Bronx, using street photography as a tool to teach reading. I have been a dance photographer for many years, and have had the honor of capturing some of the world's prima ballerinas on film.
Always passionate about photography, weddings are a joy. Brides often come back later with new babies for family portraits. The real moments are the ones that matter most...the moments Ia strive to capture on your wedding day!
I have been involved in the process of photography all of my life. I started out working as a photojournalist for local newspapers in New Jersey and Philadelphia then moved to New York City to persue a commercial career. I was assistant to many of the city's best advertising, fashion and editorial photographers.
After sharing a studio in New York City with my husband, I decided to pursue portrait and dance photography. I became a master at the time honored technique of hand painting black and white photographs. Soon my clients started to approach me about photographing their weddings.I agreed, with the stipulation that I could shoot weddings my way, spontaneously, with humor and compassion, without being contrived and artifical. A trend was started and I am, today, privileged to have been an important part of so many weddings and important family occasions.
My studio is full service, producing everything from classic black and white portraits, hand painted or not, to gorgeous wedding albums, archival giclee prints, framed images and more.
